How to Make Nasi Lemak

Ingredients A:

  • Rice 2 cups
  • Pandan leaves 1 strand
  • Thick coconut milk 3 cups
  • Salt to taste
Ingredients B:

  • Ground dry chili 2 tbsp
  • Anchovies 1 cup
  • Shallots 2 cloves
  • Garlic 1 clove
  • Tamarind 1 tbsp
  • Onion 1/2 grain
  • Salt and sugar to taste
  • The oil for frying
How to make:
    1. Cook rice that has been thoroughly washed with coconut milk, salt and pandan leaves using a rice cooker
    2. The rice is then steamed again for 5-7 minutes
    3. Once cooked, stir the rice so it doesn't get lumpy
    4. Heat the oil, once it's hot, add the anchovies and fry until dry. Drain well.
    5. Saute shallots and garlic in a little oil until fragrant. Add the ground dry chilies.
    6. Add sugar and salt. Taste test to get the right taste
    7. Pour a little water then cook until boiling. After that, add the fried anchovies and tamarind
    8. Stir to boil
    9. As a complement, you can add fried chicken, chili sauce, eggs and fresh vegetables
