How to Make Tom Yam

This food is traditional food from Thailand, Thailand food and make it yourself at home?


Ingredients A:

  • 800 ml of shrimp stock (take from boiling the shells and heads of prawns)
  • 200 ml thick coconut milk
  • 5 cm galangal, sliced or bruised
  • 3 cm ginger, sliced or crushed
  • 3 pieces of lime leaves
  • 2 stalks of bruised lemongrass
  • 2 tablespoons of fish sauce
  • Salt to taste

Ingredients B:

  • 8 dry red chilies
  • 3 shallots
  • 2 red bird's eye chilies

Ingredients C:

  • 250 grams of prawns that have been removed the shell and head
  • 150 grams of squid, cleaned, cut according to taste
  • 75 grams of mushroom
  • 6 pieces of coriander leaves sliced
  • 5 pieces of pickled corn or baby corn, cut into 2 parts
  • 5 whole red bird's eye chilies
  • 3 pieces of lime leaves
  • 2 stalks of lemon grass, take the white part and slice it
  • 2 tablespoons of lime juice
  • 1 tomato, cut into 4 parts

How to make:

  1. Bring the shrimp broth to a boil
  2. Add all the ingredients for the sauce except coconut milk
  3. Stir briefly and allow it to boil
  4. Turn off the fire and filter
  5. Reheat the broth over low or medium heat
  6. Add the ground spices and let it boil again for about 5 minutes
  7. Pour coconut milk and let it boil again
  8. Add prawns, squid, mushroom, bird's eye chilies, pickled corn, pieces of lemon grass and lime leaves
  9. Stir all ingredients until well blended
  10. Add lime juice, coriander leaves and tomatoes
  11. Stir briefly then taste correction
  12. Sprinkle coriander leaves on top
  13. Tom Yam seafood is ready to be served
